Following on from what we can plug into a DCI projector, in this following video I show you some technology my company “digitAll” is working on to answer the many issues associated with this issue. USL was showing of some new products current and in development for use in closed captions. Closed captioning will soon be government mandated in many parts of the world. As a cinema exhibitor, these new products are something you should be aware of.

CRU-Dataport is the standard way for sending DCI-DCP’s (Films in the DCI digital format) around via Hard Drive. The CRU-Dataport system has been adopted by all (SMS) DCI-player manufactuer. This allows you to plug the drive directly into the Player usig ualtra fast SATA interface to import/ingest the DCP onto the player. Or in an emergancy, play the DCP directly of the hard drive.
