After the Summit on Digital Cinema, a number of interesting threads came to light. One I felt was very interesting was the admission that none of the major studios have released a feature that uses 4k Visual effects. The render time and costs is not viable leading to 2K visual effect masters upscaled to 4K for 4K-DCP distribution.
This was an unexpected result considering 4K was such a hot topic and the push to 4K for everyone..
